Hydraulic Press Process

iis critical to maintain the stack height and to control the stack stregth of its interlocking tabs. It happens in the straight interlocking, such as stators and some non-skewing rotors. The photo shows the automatic hydraulic pressing. The outfeed from high speed press machine transports the stator into the sizing mold; locating it and then pressing.

 

Using this automatic press can save the labor and queue time. After the pressing, it can go to another station for wiring issue. The skewing rotor then send to die casting process. With the desired automatic hydraulic press, one labor can handle the press and hydraulic press. The transportation time between high-speed press to hydraulic press is saved.

The stamping stator is out fed from the high speed press and is transported by the conveyor to the tunnel. The stators then slide into the hydraulic press by the gravity and wait for the pressing.

     
 

The slide guides the stator into the center path. The sizing mould in the hydraulic press use the center bore and its two locating pins to locate the stator.

     
 

After positioning, the stator is pressed and out fed to another direction for the operator to collect the stators.

     
 

The operator then collects the stators. It can contain up to 24 stators of diameter up to 160.

Control Box for Interlocking Counting and skewing

The control box is especially for the interlocking and skewing progressive stamping dies. It helps to count the pieces by setting the pieces number, also controls the setup the rotation degree of rotors. In Shipwright Industrial controller, it contains 6 major functions, described as belowĄG

Angle Setup
To set up the skewing angle and skewing direction by inputing the required data through the touch pad. The user can also setup by single step or automatic status.
Stator Setup
To set up the number of pieces for one stack and the total sets for each lot size. It helps to control the stack height and total number of stacks. It also shows the current number of stators.
Rotor Setup
To set up the number of pieces for one rotor stack and the total sets for each lot. The function is similar to the stator setup, but sometimes, the rotor is one piece less than stator (to cover the loss for die casting reject). Therefore, two valves to control stator and rotor are required for the customers.
Bore Setup
To set up 2 different bore sizes in the same rotor. Due to the manufacturing consideration, some rotor bore need different sizes, especial in the outter field. The function helps to put the shaft into the rotor bore.
Emboss Setup
To set up the emboss punch in stator. The emboss and pierce setup are working together. The function is to manually rotate the stack 180 degree to overcome the balance issue of steel sheet.
Pierce Setup
To set up the pierce condition in stator. It works with emboss setup to overcome the balance issue of steel sheet as described in Emboss Setup.

  Conveyors

The conveyors are very useful to out feed your lamination packs. By the design of location and transportation, it can work very well for the automatic hydraulic press machine. Once the stampings are all completed, the stators and rotors are ready to be winded and die casted. The conveyors belts and generating motors can be replaced when they are damaged and not able to be used. It saves the cost and time to replace.
